Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Stevie Coupon ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our app and website (the "Service"). The Stevie Coupon app does not ask you to create an account or sign in, and does not ask you for a name, phone number, email address, or password. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

Information we collect

• A device identifier — the first time you open the app, it generates a random identifier (a UUID) and stores it securely on your device. This identifier is our only notion of "you" — it is not a phone number, an email address, an advertising identifier, or a hardware identifier, and it is never shared with anyone. It exists solely so the app can remember the businesses you've saved and the coupons you've been issued.
• Precise location — only while the app is open, and only if you grant permission. We use it to sort cities and businesses near you by distance and to show how far away each one is. We ask for precise location so those distances are accurate; an approximate fix can be wrong by a mile or more, which would make the distance we show you misleading. The app never collects location in the background and never uses geofencing. Your coordinates are rounded before they leave your device — to about 110 metres, the accuracy of the reading itself — and are sent to our server only to sort deals by distance; they are not stored there and are not written to our logs. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; the app still works without it.
• Usage events — screens you view, offers you view, businesses you save, buttons and business links you tap (such as website, phone, menu, or directions), permission choices you make, and coupons you're issued, tied to your device identifier. We use this to report activity (for example, how many coupons for an offer were issued) to the participating business.
• A shortened network address — we record a truncated version of your IP address with usage events, and your full IP address in our security logs, to protect the Service from abuse. We do not use it to identify you.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your name, phone number, email address, payment information, contacts, or photos. We do not collect background location. We do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not use third-party tracking, advertising, or analytics services.

The app does contact one third-party service: our app updates are hosted by Expo (expo.dev), so opening the app checks for an update and shares your platform and app version with that service. It receives no device identifier, no location, and no usage events.

Where we report activity to a participating business, we share only aggregate counts for that business's own offers — never your device identifier, location, or browsing history. We require any service provider handling data on our behalf to provide equal protection of that data and to use it only to provide the Service.

How we use information

• Remember the businesses you've saved and the coupons you've been issued, using only your device identifier.
• Sort and display cities and businesses by distance, when you grant location permission.
• Report redemption activity to participating businesses so they can see how their offers are performing.
• Keep the Service secure and working correctly.

How we share information

We do not sell your information, and we do not share your device identifier with anyone. We share information only:

• With hosting and infrastructure providers who help us run the Service, under confidentiality obligations.
• With participating businesses, in the form of redemption activity for their own offers — never your device identifier or location.
• If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users, businesses, or us.

Your choices

• Deny or turn off location permission in your device settings at any time — the app still works, it just can't sort by distance.
• Delete the app to permanently and irreversibly orphan your device identifier and everything tied to it. See our data deletion page for details and for how to request server-side deletion instead.

Data retention & security

We keep information only as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations, and we use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted here with an updated date.
